MSRTC has undertaken one of the country’s most ambitious electric mobility projects with a massive order of 5,150 intercity electric buses, marking a milestone in sustainable public transport.
The project officially commenced on 2nd November 2023, positioning Maharashtra at the forefront of long-distance zero-emission travel.

This large-scale initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to minimize carbon emissions, reduce dependency on fossil fuels, improve operational efficiency, and enhance passenger comfort.

100 Electric Buses for Mumbai–Pune Corridor

As part of this transition, MSRTC has introduced 100 electric buses dedicated to the Mumbai–Pune route—one of the busiest corridors in India.
This initiative improves travel safety, comfort, and reliability for thousands of daily commuters while delivering significant environmental benefits.

Transforming Intercity Travel

The electric fleet delivered under the project introduces a new benchmark for intercity travel:
